Decompression Chamber Music returns to One Longfellow Square with groundbreaking string quartets by great music innovators, Franz Joseph Haydn, and Ludwig van Beethoven.
Like architects exploring new ways of constructing buildings, these two composers designed unusual musical structures as a way to fulfill their artistic needs. These quartets, Haydn’s Op. 54 #2 and Beethoven’s Op. 18 #6, embody the assertion that, “it is feeling and force of imagination that make us eloquent.”
The concert, a unique integration of musical performance and spoken insights, will last about an hour.
