    Music & Meaning: A Night of Songs and Stories with Maine Music & Health


    This special evening will feature marimba pieces performed by Kate Beever, with special guests performing and sharing what music means to them. Kate Beever, originally from Gorham, Maine, studied at the USM School of Music and then worked for Frank Glazer before moving to New York City. She is now a Board Certified Music Therapist with a Master’s degree in Music Psychotherapy from New York University. While in New York, she interned at Beth Israel Medical Center and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. She returned to the fresh air of Maine to open Maine Music & Health.

    Bold Riley + Pumpkin Bread


    Bold Riley started as a simple music project among friends, but quickly gained momentum thanks to the group’s contagious enthusiasm and commitment to bringing joyful acoustic folk music to the greater community. Comprising members from all over southern Maine, the group is known for its soaring vocal harmonies and diverse instrumentation. Fiddle, guitar, banjo, accordion, bass and an ever expanding list of percussion allow Bold Riley to provide a wide range of music to its listeners. Members take turns singing lead, and songs range from classic folk favorites to unlikely covers to rousing originals. With the release of their self-titled EP in 2015 and performances at Stone Mountain Arts Center, Common Ground Fair, and other local venues, Bold Riley is making a new and exuberant contribution to Maine’s folk music scene.
