About LEAF 🌱

The Longfellow Emerging Artist Fellowship (LEAF) is a yearlong program from One Longfellow Square created to support Maine-based musicians as they grow their careers as working artists. Through financial support, mentorship, professional development, performance opportunities, and connection to Maine’s music community, LEAF gives Fellows the time, resources, and relationships to explore what comes next in their work.

Now in its inaugural year, LEAF is already bringing artists together with musicians, venues, industry professionals, and community partners across Maine while creating opportunities to learn, perform, experiment, and build lasting connections. As our first five Fellows continue their year together, we’re excited to begin looking ahead to the 2027 LEAF cohort, with applications open September 15 through October 9.

What you’ll receive as a fellow:

$3,000 artist stipend to support your work throughout the fellowship
Monthly workshops, panels + conversations with musicians and music industry professionals
Paid performance opportunities at OLS and with partner organizations throughout Maine
A headlining show at One Longfellow Square
Professional artist assets + promotional support, including high-quality photo and video
Dedicated rehearsal space at OLS
A weekend artist retreat focused on connection, creativity, and professional growth

We’re looking for five Maine-based musicians to join the next year of LEAF. If you identify as an emerging artist and are ready to invest time in your music, build new skills and connections, and become part of a supportive statewide community of artists and industry professionals, we want to hear from you.
