Americana / Indie-folk project Jenny Lou Drew & The Damage Done will release their full-length debut, Cornish Folk Songs, on June 26 at One Longfellow Square in Portland, Maine.
Jenny Lou Drew and Scott Morgan, a husband and wife production team, have invited everyone from local eccentrics who make their own electronic instruments to Portland Symphony Orchestra players to record on the songs they arrange and produce in their Midcoast home studio. All tracks feature long time friend and collaborator, Shawn Paul Boissonneault on drums—an original member of the project in which Drew and Morgan met back in 2006.
Jenny, a member of the Maine Songwriter's Association, wrote the songs on the album over the span of nearly a decade. Tracks feature both her and hubby on guitars with Morgan's arrangements, lead guitar and pedal steel woven intricately into the fray. The album as a whole is an introspective comprised of songs Drew once slated too personal for the drawing board. She and Morgan, an elementary school teacher by day, wrote all parts for the instruments on the album, which Morgan engineered.
All artist proceeds will benefit Help Hope Live for Christian Dickey, an 18 year-old friend of the family in need of a life-saving liver transplant.
Cornish Folk Songs will be available for pre-order on April 26.
