CANCELLED: A Hundred Ways North: New Stories. New World.

We are all storytellers, keepers of history, and creators of a world we will leave behind for others to discover.  With each decision we make, we choose our lives and write our story. Part performance, part conversation, New Stories. New World. is a look at how the stories we repeat to one another and the ones we come to believe in shape the lens through which we understand the world. Join Brian Andreas (master storyteller and creator of StoryPeople) and Fia Skye (actress and teacher of whole body/whole voice), for a lively evening that will challenge you to create towards the life you want to live.

Brian Andreas is known around the world as the writer and artist behind StoryPeople and Brian Andreas Studio. To date he has authored 15 books, two of which were nominated for the Pulitzer Prize in Poetry, and his recent collaboration with photographer Lorne Resnick, “Cuba: This moment, Exactly So,” is the winner of three Independent book awards. There is a gentle and powerful clarity to Brian’s writing, his work, a celebration of the strength and beauty of the human spirit.

Since 1998, Fia Skye balanced life as a professional actor and professor of voice and acting. Her primary area of exploration is the interconnectedness of body, mind and voice, a holistic approach that earned her national and institutional teaching awards. She has been invited to speak and conduct workshops across the country and in South Africa. Articles on cross cultural storytelling, beginner’s mind, and balancing kinesthetic with analytical learning are published through the international journal of Voice and Speech Trainers Association, under the name Wendy Saver/Mortimer. In 2016, she changed her name and stepped away from academia to create the company, A Hundred Ways North.

A Hundred Ways North explores the practice of presence. In their workshops and writing, they integrate whole story, whole body, whole voice.
