Featuring Lightnin' Hopkins, Howlin' Wolf and many more!
Announcing a special night at One Longfellow Square! On Saturday, March 4, we begin another series of historic and rarely seen films that showcase some of the greatest musicians who have ever lived. On this night, we'll show the second volume from the American Folk Blues Festival series. From 1962 through 1968, many of the best blues musicians of all time traveled to Europe as part of the annual AFBF. As part of the tour, a German television station produced and broadcast a TV show each year. The tapes were lost for 40 years but now they're found and they are amazing!
Presenting the icons of blues at the peak of their talent. Tonight, we will see and hear performances by T Bone Walker, Big Mama Thornton, and Willie Dixon. But if that's not enough, we'll also have Sonny Boy Williamson, Howling Wolf and many more! Blues fans, this is it!
