Music Video Portland: Maine's First Music Video Awards Show

Music Video Portland (MVP) is a brand new event conceived and produced by HOT TRASH: Portland! (hottrashportland.com), a volunteer-run, community music and culture blog focused on local talent in the Portland, Maine area. Created in the image of the MTV Video Music Awards, MVP will take place on January 11, 2018 at One Longfellow Square, and will feature videos from nominees in nine categories:

Overall Achievement
Technical Achievement
Acting/Performance Achievement
Best Rock Video
Best Pop/Indie Video
Best Hip Hop Video
Best Folk/Roots Video
Best Electronic Video
Critic's Choice Award

Nominees and guests will walk the red carpet at the event, with photo opportunities and a red carpet host - we encourage everyone to bring out their best formal wear, costumes, punk rock party duds or Cher at the 1986 oscars red carpet looks; and if there's a snow storm, we hope you get creative decorating your favorite Bean boots for the event.

A panel of community judges will pick the top three videos in each category, and these nominees will be shown at the awards ceremony on January 11th. Then, the attendees will vote for their favorites to win the much-coveted Golden Lobster award, plus bragging rights for a whole year.

Video submissions are now open at musicvideoportland.com. The deadline for submission is November 15, 2017.

7pm start | $5 adv. – $7 door
