OLS's Greatest Hits: A 5(ish) Year Anniversary Party

5 ish years of hits, 5 ish years of music, 5 ish years of memories, 5ish years of OLS!

That’s right. This year we’re turning 5 “ish” years old and we want to celebrate with you!

Pre-event online auction is live at www.32auctions.com/OLS_Auction Bids will carry over to the live event. Place your bids online now, or purchase items at their "buy now" price to ensure you win the items you want!

“Why 5 ‘ish’?” You ask. Well, sit down while we tell you a story called “The Little Venue That Could”. Over five years ago a small, for-profit venue, known as One Longfellow Square learned that it could not survive on ticket sales alone, unless it chose to charge outrageous rates for its tickets, in turn isolating many a music fan from being able to share in the joy of live concerts. It said right then, “I think I want to be a non-profit… I think I want to be a non-profit…” and its dedicated staff members began the arduous task of filing for non-profit status. Approximately 5 years ago, that status was granted and the Maine music community rejoiced.

The venue would never have made it to 5 without going non-profit. Donated funds make up nearly 25% of income for the little space. On October 26th, join as we celebrate the momentous occasion of turning 5 “ish” years old, and the amazing community of people who made it happen with a party, featuring food courtesy of Hannaford, Portland Food Co-Op and Rosemont Market, drinks from Lone Pine Brewing and Austin Street Brewery, friends, fun and dancing!

In addition to being a celebration, this will also be an important fundraiser for the venue. After all, donated funds DO make up nearly 25% of our income. Tickets cost a suggested donation of $25 per person, and a silent auction, featuring some amazing items, including autographed posters from some of your favorite OLS acts and items from some of our favorite neighborhood businesses will run throughout the event to help us raise money so we can keep the doors open for 5 more years. Of course, it would not be an OLS event without music! Music will be performed by Portland newcomer Gregg Harper (don’t miss your chance to say “I heard him here first”) and Portland natives Keanu Keanu (don’t miss your chance to sing and dance along to their amazing renditions of songs by The Bee Gees, Roy Orbison, Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, and more).

This is the can’t miss musical event of the season. We look forward to seeing you there and sharing OLS memories with you throughout the night.
