Alasdair Fraser & Natalie Haas

November 15 @ 8:00 PM

Doors open an hour before showtime.

Scottish fiddler Alasdair Fraser and Californian cellist Natalie Haas have spent more than 16 years captivating audiences with their groundbreaking exploration of the fiddle–cello duo. Drawing on a deep understanding of Scottish musical traditions while fearlessly venturing into new territory, their performances range from the intimacy of chamber music to the driving energy of dance. Known for their virtuosic technique, joyful spontaneity, and remarkable musical chemistry, they’ve set the standard for this pairing in traditional music.

Their debut album, Fire & Grace, won the Scots Trad Music “Album of the Year” award and marked the beginning of a recording career that now spans four acclaimed albums. Fraser—hailed as “the Michael Jordan of Scottish fiddling” and inducted into the Scottish Traditional Music Hall of Fame—has performed on iconic film soundtracks such as Last of the Mohicans and Titanic. Haas, a Juilliard-trained cellist and one of the most sought-after musicians in traditional music, has performed with artists including Mark O’Connor, Natalie MacMaster, Solas, Altan, and Liz Carroll.

This seemingly unlikely duo has restored the cello to its historical role at the rhythmic heart of Scottish dance music, a position it held for centuries. In addition to performing on the world’s great stages, they inspire and mentor the next generation of string players through teaching at fiddle camps and workshops across the globe.
