HALLOWELL DOES THE LAST WALTZ is a loving re-enactment of THE BAND’s final concert in 1976. Many critics consider the Martin Scorsese film of the concert, THE LAST WALTZ, to be the greatest rock and roll movie of all time! THE BAND’s iconic songs like “Shape I’m In,” “Up on Cripple Creek,” “The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down,” and many more are featured, along with appearances by their musical friends — Bob Dylan, Van Morrison, Joni Mitchell, Eric Clapton, Emmylou Harris, Neil Young, and more. This star-filled concert is the apex of 60s and 70s Americana.
HALLOWELL DOES THE LAST WALTZ is performed by a Who’s Who of Maine studio musicians and live performers, including:
Bob Colwell and Dickie “Doo” Hollis from the legendary Boneheads, Pat Colwell and the Soul Sensations, Alter Igor, The Colwell Brothers, and Hallowell’s famous Root Cellar Recording Studio.
Tim Sullivan — The Maine Dead Project, The Shakes, and countless recordings of Maine artists.
Justin Maxwell (Portland’s own) — The Maine Dead Project, The Shakes, Delta Knights, Cidny Bullens, and Justin Maxwell Music Services.
Steve Vellani — Rolling Blackouts, Vellani Wakefield, and beloved/benevolent ruler of Hallowell.
Robby Coffin — Dave Mallett, Devonsquare, Don Campbell, Maggie Coffin, and countless artists needing a world-class guitar slinger.
Katie Daggett — Founder of Hallowell’s Slates Concert Series, Sister Moon, and currently performing everywhere in the Americana duo Katie Daggett and Ed Desjardins.
Pat Colwell — Pat Colwell and the Soul Sensations, The Colwell Brothers Band, and River Records recording artist.
Josh Robbins (Rusty Diamond) — The Maine Dead Project, The Shakes, and countless recordings of Maine artists.
