Heather Maloney:
Massachusetts-based “writer song-singer” Heather Maloney discovered her voice during three years at a meditation center, where silent reflection shaped her lyrical curiosity and reverence for storytellers. Trading the quiet life of a yogi for the road, she has since played over 1,000 shows worldwide and released eight albums, with her ninth, Exploding Star (out January 31, 2025), being her most personal yet. Written in the wake of her father’s passing and recorded in her childhood home using his guitar, the record is both celebratory and heartbreaking, produced by Don Mitchell (Darlingside) with arrangements by High Tea’s Isabella DeHerdt and Isaac Eliot.
Her past work has earned acclaim from PopMatters, The Bluegrass Situation, and The New York Times, and features collaborations with artists like Taylor Goldsmith (Dawes), Rachael Price, and Jay Ungar. Her songs have been heard on NPR, eTown, AudioTree, and TV shows such as Elementary, while also finding a place on Spotify editorial and Starbucks playlists. As a touring artist, Maloney has headlined across North America and supported acts including Lake Street Dive, Shakey Graves, Gary Clark Jr., and Mary Chapin Carpenter.
