An Evening with Tom Rush accompanied by Matt Nakoa

December 4 @ 8:00 PM

Doors open an hour before showtime.

Tom Rush has been shaping the sound of American music for more than five decades. A pioneer of the 1960s folk revival and a key voice in the genre’s resurgence in the ’80s and ’90s, he’s known for his warm, resonant voice, distinctive guitar style, and sharp sense of humor. His concerts are equal parts music and storytelling—soulful ballads, gritty blues, and moments of laughter woven together into a journey through the heart of folk. Along the way, Rush’s songs have become classics in their own right, covered by artists across folk, country, and even rock. James Taylor has called him “one of my main influences,” while Garth Brooks has named him among his top inspirations.

Beyond his own music, Rush has been a lifelong champion of emerging artists. His early recordings introduced the world to Joni Mitchell, Jackson Browne, and James Taylor, and his groundbreaking Club 47 concert series paired legendary performers with rising stars like Nanci Griffith, Shawn Colvin, and Alison Krauss. Still touring and writing today, Rush continues to captivate audiences around the world, bringing people together through songs that balance wit, wisdom, and the timeless power of live performance.
