For more than five decades, Walter Trout has been a fearless observer of the world around him, channeling lived experience into raw, unfiltered blues-rock without telling listeners what to think or feel. His new album Sign Of The Times captures the tension, anger, and emotional weight of the moment, transforming it into some of the heaviest and most urgent music of his career. Written quickly and instinctively, the songs emerged as a form of release, shaped in close collaboration with his wife, manager, and co-writer Marie Trout.
Recorded in Los Angeles with his longtime band, the album’s sharp riffs and driving performances reflect the gravity of its themes and Trout’s desire to push beyond expectations. The result is a record that feels immediate, uncompromising, and deeply personal—proof that at 74, Walter Trout remains as vital, restless, and creatively driven as ever.
